Pentagram Launches Fourth Album
Pentagram launched their fourth album, Bloodywood, with aplomb in the city last week, with a five-city tour. With Vishal Dadlani as the frontman, Randolph Correia on guitar, Shiraz Bhattacharya on drums and Papal Mane on bass, this electro-rock band is synonymous with energy.
Bloodywood is an album out and out soaked in the city of Mumbai — the culture, the glamour, the glitz; the deafening noise on the streets and the hypersonic living — and all the 14 tracks, invariably, deal with the same.
Explains Vishal Dadlani, “There are songs like Mental zero, In my head and Tomorrow’s decided, wherein the beat is very close to the street sounds. Then there are tracks like This could get ugly, Nocturne and Think I get you, which are drawn from situations that Mumbai creates in your head.

“I just sit and put down ideas, guitars, synths, grooves and loops in various tempos; jam for like 30 minutes, and make riffs. Vishal and I then go through them to see which ones fit into the Pentagram frame,” Randolph elaborates.
“The idea is to get the song and the message across in the best way possible.”
Pentagram is also using their online show PentaTV to promote their album. “It’s something we started so that our fans could see what Pentagram is all about. People think we are this huge and inaccessible band and we wanted to change that. We’re regular musicians who love music and are always at the forefront,” reasons Randolph.
